Bishop Luis R. Scott, Sr., was born in Puerto Rico in 1956. He graduated from Moody Bible Institute in 1986 with a Bachelor's degree in Bible Theology. Pastor Scott also received a Master in Divinity from Northern Baptist Theological Seminary in Lombard, Illinois.
A receiving his seminary degree, Bishop Scott joined the United States Army as a chaplain in 1991. During his military career he served in Saudi Arabia shortly after the Desert Storm ground war. Luis went on to serve at various duty stations throughout his military career, including: Fort Hood, Texas; Korea; Fort Monmouth, NJ; Fort Gordon and Fort Benning both in the state of Georgia.
Luis is married his high school sweetheart, Iris, and they have four children together. They have spent 39 wonderful years together. Their children are: Victor and his wife Miranda; Luis, Jr., and his wife Rachel; Veronica and her husband Joshua; and Josué and his wife Jill. Bishop and Mrs. Scott are also the proud grandparents of eight.
Pastor Scott retired from the US Army in 2007. He and his wife started the Ambassadors of Christ Ministries in Columbus, GA in the same year.
In August of 2018, Bishop Scott was consecrated a Bishop in the Lord’s Church as a member of Alliance Partners Network International, under the ecclesiastical leadership of Bishop William C. Hackworth, II, who is the International Presiding Bishop. At that time he was also appointed as the first and founding Diocesan Bishop of the Diocese of Columbus. Bishop Scott was also appointed to sit on the Apostolic Council of the Alliance Partners Network International.
